Welcome to the 8th Ufford Bygones and Fun Day
A great day of fun and entertainment is planned. A large number of
bygones and attractions have been lined-up, including steam engines,
agricultural bygones, static displays of vintage tractors and old
motorcycles, exhibits of vehicles from the 1920s through to the 1970s,
and minis from the local mini club.
There are attractions for all the family, including arts and crafts
stalls and games of fun and skill. Play target golf or target football,
or why not try your hand at archery. You will get the chance to scoop
up a plastic duck from its watery abode using a digger. There’s a
children’s driving school, and of course, as you’d expect, there is the
ever-popular bouncy castle and much, much more.
A prize-draw with a first prize of £100, and numerous runner-up
prizes, will take place at 16:00. The Fire Brigade (Woodbridge station)
will give a display of vehicle rescue techniques. A line-up of local
bands/groups will entertain you.
Refreshments, including tea, coffee and the traditional ploughman’s
lunch are available throughout the day for a small charge. And if
you’re looking for a bit more sustenance, there is a hog roast and a
BBQ selling hot-dogs and beef burgers.
The event at Crown Farm has been co-ordinated entirely from
voluntary support, with all prizes in the prize-draw being donated by
local businesses and local people. Last year we managed to raise £9,000
for St Elizabeth Hospice, bringing the total to over £34,000 over the last
seven years.
We really hope that you enjoy your day out. Download our poster from here (opens in new window/pane)
The committee and organisers would like to express their sincere
thanks to Michael Smith and his family for their contribution and
support, and to Joe Smith for providing Crown Farm as a venue for this
event.
